Before
any properly organised motocross race, dirtbike cross country,
enduro or gncc, you bike will have to go through scrutineering.
This
is to ensure that your dirtbike will operate safely and not hurt
yourself or other riders.
What
is looked at by the scrutineers is fairly basic and should be
part of you pre-race routine before you leave home.
Some
basic items to pay attention to is:
- spoke
tension
- condition
of wheel bearings both front and rear
- steering
head bearings
- that
your handle bar ends are plugged
- all
controls are functioning which includes both front brake and
clutch levers as well as kill switch.
- footpegs
and gear levers return back
Doing
a simple pre-race routine like this yourself at home will give
you more confidence in your motocross or dirtbike and give you
a better chance of having a worry free day racing or riding
Now
you can watch it on video...
