There are two things that can ruin your video production - Poor lighting and poor audio.

The microphones on built into camcorders by the manufacturers have been designed to capture audio in all matter of situations, from all directions of different volumes.

Unfortunately for you the camcorder user this doesn't help in recording quality audio.

Another problem with an in-built camcorder microphone is that recording video and audio are best done two completely different ways.

It is better to have the camera further away from the subject to record good video whereas it's best to have the microphone as close to the ausio source as possible to record crisp, clear audio.

Microphones come in a number of different types:

• handheld
• boom
• lavaliere etc.

All for different and specific purposes.

So if you want to improve the quality of your video productions, good clear audio will make your videos stand out from many others.
